Update on Weston Swarm Number One

Well, while Mike & Mon's bees have been busy swarming again, Weston Swarm No 1 have been holidaying in Elvaston, while we holidayed in France!

Sarah came to collect them last night & move them to their new home near Ticknall & we were both pleased with how heavy the box was, definitely a good sign that they have been productive during their stay.

Mike - Sarah or I will get your bait box back to you once she has transferred them to her TBH.

Hope to see you all at the meeting next week.

  1. Glad to hear that there is still a lot of activety going on. Although I shouldn't be I am still jealous of everyones bee exploits. As soon as this hot weather (C45 today)goes I will get on and build those Warre hives I keep banging on about!

    Keep up the good work.

  2. Once built, have you found some 'spare' gardens to put them in?

  3. Thanks for the bees - they are now moved from their flower pot bait hive and happily settled into the top-bar hive built on the hive-building day. Many thanks to Tim for the roof too and helping with the transfer. It's sooo good to have bees again and I love gardening alongside them knowing they are doing a fantastic job of pollinating my fruit and veg.
